About Sircy

Sircy is a young, handsome neutered male weighing just 28 pounds. Mostly white with black markings, Sircy has long hair with feathers and is so handsome that pictures just don’t do him justice. A sister who looks like him had her DNA done and was found to be part miniature Australian shepherd and part border collie with some odd breeds thrown in for good measure. Size wise, he is small enough to be a lap dog but large enough to also be a jogging partner. Sircy is loving but not pushy as he will seek his treats and attention but then go off to play or rest. Sircy is house and crate trained, walks and rides well, smart, playful, food motivated, tested heartworm negative, is up to date on vaccines and on heartworm preventative. He knows the basic commands and is excited to learn more, especially if treats are involved. It is just enjoyable having him around.

Sircy was surrendered to the rescue because his owners lived in a condominium with small children and recognized that Sircy was not doing well in that environment so no apartments, condominiums, or young children will be considered. After having learned how to run and play outside, a large securely fenced yard is a must for his safety. He gets along well with other dogs and ignores our cat but is very energetic and playful so will not be a good companion for older dogs who just want to chill.

Sircy is being fostered near Burlington, N.C., and wants to evaluate anybody interested in him so a road trip will be required. Be advised that Sircy will be very selective in choosing his new people and forever home. He is looking for a family that will love and care for him like his first owners did but have more time to spend with him and a large yard for him to patrol.

Applicants must have a satisfactory vet reference which includes an annual exam, vaccines, a heartworm test, and purchase of monthly, year-round heartworm preventatives.
