About Bella

Bella is a gorgeous, classic black and white border collie who, more than anything, wants to be a “good dog” for her person. Like most border collies, she loves a game of fetch and is smart as a whip. She’ll melt your heart with her devotion to you, and her antics when she plays with toys by herself will keep you laughing for hours on end. Bella travels well in the car and while she does not love being crated, she is comfortable by herself in “her room” at her foster home. She knows sit, down, paw, kennel up, load up (into the car), over (agility fences), and how to give hugs.

Bella is an active dog both physically and mentally. She runs with her foster mom a couple of times a week, but we think she’d love something like agility that combines both mental and physical activity.

Bella’s confidence in herself along with her impulse control are improving with each day, and she requires an adopter with previous border collie experience who is dedicated to continuing her training. She will do best in a quiet home with a consistent routine, where her exposure to things that overwhelm her can be controlled. Bella loves to play and chase once she feels comfortable, but her insecurity can be difficult for other dogs at first; she does best with dogs who are secure in themselves and forgiving, so adopters with other dogs in their homes will be considered on a case-by-case basis. She requires a home in the metro Atlanta/north Georgia area with no cats, no young children, and a fenced-in yard that is set back from the road, as cars are still too difficult to ignore for sweet Bella.
