Ty

Handsome Ty is the perfect combination of playful and loving. He adores everyone he meets and is incredibly friendly. He’s very acrobatic and athletic when playing with his soccer ball. And when the ball isn’t around, tug-of-war is another one of his favorite games.

Want someone to ride shotgun? Ty is great in the car and really has fun going places. He sits well at outdoor restaurants and likes observing everything around him.

Ty has typical border collie energy but he settles easily, especially in the evening. He also has herding dog brains: He’s very smart and learns quickly. He’s already mastered sit, shake, and stay, and is working on come.

Because of those smarts, he would be best with someone who has herding dog experience. His brain is always going and he likes to keep his mind and body busy.

Ty has a blast playing with other energetic dogs. He’s housetrained, does great in a crate, and is doing well on a leash.

He needs a home with a physical fence with room to throw a ball (no apartments). He needs someone who is home most of the time, and ideally another younger dog. (Old dogs are boring, Ty says.) Ty would be best without young children or cats.

Ty is being fostered near Charleston, South Carolina. Applicants must have a satisfactory vet reference which includes an annual exam, vaccines, a heartworm test, and purchase of monthly, year-round heartworm preventatives.
