I’m Tucker or “TJ” as my foster family sometimes calls me. I am a huge love bug and know there’s nothing better than giving lots of kisses and hugs!
I love to chase balls and frisbees so I need a yard with at least a four-foot fence so I can run all I want. One of my favorite jobs is squirrel patrol and I would be glad to chase them all away. I have some mild hip dysplasia, but it doesn’t hurt and is a great excuse to take breaks inside. If you’re going anywhere, I really enjoy car rides and would love to come along.
I would love a home where I could sleep in your bed, but I also settle nicely in a crate or on a dog bed. I walk great on a leash but I try to herd cars (they’re moving after all!) so it would be best if I lived in a quieter residential area, in the country, or near a park with a walking trail.
I get a little anxious if my people leave so I need a home where someone is around most of the time or where there’s a fun, younger dog to play with while they are gone. The dog at this place is sort of old and grumpy.
I’m getting the hang of potty training and I’m really good at playing with toys. Sometimes I think everything is a toy, so you might have to remind me what’s off limits. I’ve learned a whole bunch of tricks including sit, down, shake, and whisper and I would love to learn even more, especially if treats are involved.
Tucker is being fostered in Columbia, S.C. He would be amazing for a family who has experience with brainy, busy border collies. He has great energy outside and settles easily inside. Tucker needs a home with no cats and no young children because he’ll want to herd them all. Applicants must have a satisfactory vet reference which includes an annual exam, vaccines, a heartworm test, and purchase of monthly, year-round heartworm preventatives.
