About Jax
Jax is a handsome border collie/retriever mix and all around happy-go-lucky dog. He’s mostly white with striking black facial markings and he certainly turns heads at the dog park. There isn’t a dog or a person that he doesn’t want to meet. Jax enjoys running around the park with his canine pals, swimming in the pool, or chilling inside — and he’ll do anything for a treat! Jax loves people, playing, and companionship. He is such an affectionate guy and great with strangers, but will let you know if someone is at the door.
Jax is a total smartie and knows so many commands like sit, down, paw, and stay. His willingness to learn is one of his best qualities. He also easily walks into his crate (his “place”) and naps and sleeps there. One of his absolute favorite things to do is ride in the car.
Jax is reactive to noises outside. He’s making great progress, but will need a patient, experienced owner to continue working with him. So far, Jax has shown no herding or prey instinct but likes to sniff around. He is very aware of his surroundings and wants to explore with you, especially on nature trails with lots of smells and stimulation to keep him interested. Jax has not shown much interest in fetching, but does enjoy a good antler or bone.
Jax requires a fenced yard and would do great with a doggy brother or sister. No apartments, condos, or townhouses please.
This sweet guy has bounced back with an open heart and is ready to join his forever family. Jax is being fostered in Atlanta. If you think he is the right guy for you, please fill out an application.
