Biography
Rory, an 8-year-old border collie/lab mix, is an intelligent, cuddly, fun girl! She has been a family dog for the last 7 years, but has recently begun showing aggression towards another family pet and therefore needs to find a home that better suits her needs. Rory is an incredible family dog 90% of the time. She is well trained with basic obedience (sit, down, off, place, wait, here, etc) and is off-leash trained. She loves to chase a frisbee (approximately 4 times before she wants to cuddle instead). She is very affectionate and rolls over for belly rubs. She is potty-trained and crate-trained. She currently lives in a home with two small children and cats without a problem. However, as Rory does come with some challenges, we highly recommend she go to a home that has experience with herding breeds. She is territorial of her home and is nervous around strangers which can result in barking and potential nipping if not introduced properly. She is more comfortable, in general, with women. The recent aggression towards her sibling is new and the only dog aggression she has shown. She currently lives in the home with a third dog that isn’t a problem, has had a variety of foster dogs come and go in her home, and attends a kennel-free boarding facility. Although Rory does come with some areas of improvement, she truly is a wonderful and loyal dog. We believe she would be incredibly successful in a home in which someone had the capacity to continue her training. If it wasn’t for the safety of our other dog, there is no way we would let her go.
